Scenario - Dirty Bomb

In the midst of a bloody civil war, remote scout units have discovered a buried heap of strange metal just outside a recently-bombed command post.  Rumour has it that the command post was set up to coordinate a dig, and the official presence of Archaeology scholars in the system corroborates this story. Unfortunately, the command outpost had no survivors, and the remote scouts went offline shortly after discovering the strange metal fragments.  Covert teams have been dispatched by interested parties, in an attempt to recover and investigate.  Many of these teams include a site-engineer or code analyst, to hasten recovery of information regarding the unknown metal. There is one small problem.  The bomb that was dropped on the command post was dirty, and large amounts of radiation linger in the air and soak into the soil.  This will undoubtedly affect any retrieval teams sent out, and casualties may even occur after the mission has been completed. Most commanders, however, are will

Teaching Infinity

Image
Learning a new game is like climbing a ladder.  At first, you start on the ground, not knowing how to play.  From there, you make your way up, rung by rung, towards the top.  The top is awesome, full of complexity and nuance, but getting there can often be a challenge.

Scenario - Kidnapping

This is a scenario that I devised a while ago.  An earlier iteration of it exists on the Infinity forums, but this version is updated with the result of some play experience.

Trip Delay

March Break means a trip back home to visit family, which in turn means little time to update.  Look for updates this coming week, including a scenario and a (late) model review for March.

The Sophotect Challenge - Unit Spotlight

I know that haven't posted much about my Sophotect challenge in the last while, but that's a problem that's about to be fixed!  After finishing up my Sophotect's paintjob (shown below), I managed to squeeze in about 6-7 games with the Aleph operative.  This article is the product of the lessons I learned during those games, but keep in mind that I'll be discussing the Sophotect specifically in the context of the ISS.  Aleph lackies need not apply!

News regarding posts!

I've been steadily working on a few things despite a busy schedule, and I'm happy to say that my Sophotect unit review will be out this week.  It's the culmination of everything I learned during my Sophotect challenge, so I hope it will be useful for ISS players interested in bringing this fantastic doctor along for the ride. I've also been toying with the idea of publishing an Infinity serial story, which I've been working on in bits and pieces.  It features a PanOceanian diplomat who is unable to save his daughter from being killed, and so turns to unorthodox sources on the Human Edge to raise the funds for her cube resurrection.  More on this later. Lastly, I've been working on a scenario idea or two that might see the light of day within the next week, if I have the time.  The unit review and story will come first, though. All this is just to give you an idea of where we're headed in the next little while.  As always, thanks for reading, and may yo
